Yahoo employee Jeremy
Zawodny, the blogosphere facing man over there, asks for advice on How to revamp Yahoo groups. That sure is nice when
people ask.It looks like that service is going to be a lot more than an email list site soon. Makes sense on one level, but on another level I wonder: do people use Yahoo groups because they don't want anything more complicated? Seems a question worth asking, but I'm guessing that some integration of Flickr or Yahoo Maps would be more than welcomed by users. Go let 'em know what you think, or check the discussion to take a peek into the possible future developments.

1. I do not know if this will trully result in any change. I am a college Professor who has used yahoo groups as an alternative to Blackboard and WebCT.
Many of its features are very good, but would like to see some of this done.
Since groups is a nice alternative, can yahoo make the sign in procedure easier for those who do not have a yahoo id and password? Is it really necessary to have a yahoo id? Also streamline the signing up for groups when the user enters the site....many of the steps are difficult for folks who are not computer literate
Also can the dialogue on postings be threaded like other posting boards?
